TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 13832 SUBJECT: Swift Trigger 535026: ROTSE-III Optical Limits DATE: 12/10/01 19:02:26 GMT FROM: Weikang Zheng at U.of Michigan W. Zheng (U Mich), T. Guver (Sabanci U), report on behalf of the ROTSE collaboration: ROTSE-IIId, located at the Turkish National Observatory at Bakirlitepe, Turkey, responded to Swift trigger 535026 (D'Elia et al., GCN 13831), producing images beginning 8.0 s after the GCN notice time. An automated response took the first image at 18:24:26.0 UT, 83.7 s after the burst, under fair conditions. These observations were affected by proximity to the full moon. We took 10 5-sec, and 20 20-sec exposures. These unfiltered images are calibrated relative to USNO A2.0 (R). Imaging is on going. Comparison to the DSS (second epoch) reveals no new sources within the 3-sigma Swift/BAT error circle or the XRT error circle. Individual images have limiting magnitudes ranging from 14.4-15.4; we set the following specific limits. start UT end UT t_exp(s) mlim t_start-tGRB(s) Coadd? -------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:24:26.0 18:24:31.0 5 14.4 83.7 N 18:24:39.5 18:24:44.5 5 14.4 97.2 N 18:24:53.0 18:24:58.0 5 14.7 110.8 N 18:24:26.0 18:26:32.4 50 15.6 83.7 Y 18:26:41.1 18:27:01.1 20 15.2 218.8 N 18:27:09.6 18:27:29.6 20 15.3 247.2 N 18:27:38.1 18:27:58.1 20 15.3 275.8 N [GCN OPS NOTE(24dec12): Per author's request, the "12831" was changed to "13831".]
