TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 27210 SUBJECT: IPN triangulation of GRB 200221A (short) DATE: 20/02/25 19:00:47 GMT FROM: Dmitry Svinkin at Ioffe Institute D. Svinkin, S. Golenetskii, R. Aptekar, D. Frederiks, A. Ridnaia, and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, K. Hurley, on behalf of the IPN, A. Goldstein, M. S. Briggs, and C. Wilson-Hodge on behalf of the Fermi GBM team, A. von Kienlin, X. Zhang, A. Rau, V. Savchenko, E. Bozzo, and C. Ferrigno, on behalf of the INTEGRAL SPI-ACS GRB team, and S. Xiao, C. K. Li, X. B. Li, Y. Huang, and S. L. Xiong on behalf of the Insight-HXMT GRB team, report: The short-duration GRB 200221A (The Fermi GBM team, GCN Circ. 27159) was detected by Fermi (GBM trigger 603949983), Konus-Wind, INTEGRAL (SPI-ACS), and Insight (HXMT/HE) at about 13979 s UT (03:52:59). We have triangulated it to a preliminary, 3 sigma error box whose coordinates are: -------------------------------- RA(2000), deg Dec(2000), deg -------------------------------- Center: 178.682 +33.400 Corners: 182.119 +35.008 132.491 +48.390 141.935 +43.606 175.374 +31.702 179.446 +3.183 183.926 -3.580 --------------------------------- The error box area is 455 sq. deg, and its maximum dimension is 68.5 deg (the minimum one is 6.5 deg). The Sun distance was ~140 deg. The IPN localization is consistent with, but reduces the area of, the Fermi-GBM one. This box may be improved. A triangulation map is posted at http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB200221_T13983/IPN The Konus-Wind time history and spectrum will be given in a forthcoming GCN Circular.
