TO: All GCN Sites RE: Recent outage fixed DT: 06 Nov 99 The GCN system has been down since ~5pm EST on Friday. Some telephone workers managed to break one of the Internet connections for one of the GCN computers. I logged a trouble call 6:30pm Friday, but it seems the 24/7 isn't what is used to be. Saturday I rerouted the broken connection through a mini-hub doubling up one of the remaining connections that still worked. Things seem to be functioning properly now (socket connections, imalives, emails, pages, test_alerts, etc) as of 1pm. So we lost 20 hours. My apologies for the loss of service.
