//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN GRB OBSERVATION REPORT NUMBER: 1354 SUBJECT: BeppoSAX ALERT: possible GRB020411 DATE: 02/04/11 06:14:39 GMT FROM: Giangiacomo Gandolfi at IAS/CNR Frascati BeppoSAX ALERT: possible GRB020411 On Apr. 11, 01:49:05 UT a further possible GRB has been detected in BeppoSAX WFC1. Unfortunately GRBM was again switched off at that time. A Quick Look analysis seems to confirm the X-ray Flash or GRB nature of the event. Preliminary coordinates are: R.A.(2000)= 78.111 DEC.(2000)= 68.257 The error radius is 5'. G. Therefore we cannot confirm the nature of the burst and conclude that the inccrease of counts could be related to solar activity. G. H. Hartmann, M. Leising (Clemson University) S. Klose (Thueringer Landessternwarte Tautenburg) P. Mack (ACE) S. Shaw (UGA) report on behalf of the SARA consortium: We imaged the error-circle of "GRB020411" (Gandolfi et al., GCN1354) with the SARA 0.9m telescope at KPNO on 02/04/11, starting eight hours after the "burst". We covered the error circle with 4X3 three minute exposures in the I band. Comparison with the DSS did not reveal any new sources. A more refined analysis of this event (Gandolfi et al. GCN1356) suggests that this event was not a GRB. No further Observations are planned for this event. This message may be cited.
