//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16609 SUBJECT: GRB 140719B: Swift detection of a burst DATE: 14/07/19 21:03:42 GMT FROM: Rhaana Starling at U of Leicester R. L. C. Starling (U Leicester), W. H. Baumgartner (GSFC/UMBC), S. B. Cenko (GSFC), L. M. Z. Hagen (PSU), C. J. Mountford (U Leicester), D. M. Palmer (LANL) and T. Sakamoto (AGU) report on behalf of the Swift Team: At 20:49:35.68 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered and located GRB 140719B (trigger=605700). Due to a Moon constraint, Swift could not slew to the burst. The BAT on-board calculated location is RA, Dec 39.738d, -2.378d which is RA(J2000) = 02h 38m 57s Dec(J2000) = -02d 22' 39" with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve showed a complex structure with a duration of about 50 sec. The peak count rate was ~900 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~2 sec after the trigger. Due to a Moon observing constraint, Swift cannot slew to the BAT position until 06:44 UT on 2014 July 21. There will thus be no XRT or UVOT data for this trigger before this time. Burst Advocate for this burst is R. L. C. Starling (rlcs1 AT star.le.ac.uk). Please contact the BA by email if you require additional information regarding Swift followup of this burst. In extremely urgent cases, after trying the Burst Advocate, you can contact the Swift PI by phone (see Swift TOO web site for information: http://www.swift.psu.edu/too.html.) //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16610 SUBJECT: GRB 140719B: Zadko observatory - Gingin optical observations DATE: 14/07/20 00:16:00 GMT FROM: Alain Klotz at IRAP-CNRS-OMP A. Klotz, D. Turpin (IRAP-CNRS-OMP), D. Macpherson (UWA/ICRAR), D. Coward (UWA), M. Boer, B. Gendre, K. Siellez, H. Dereli, O. Bardho (UNS-CNRS-OCA), A. Williams (PO-UWA), R. Martin (PO-UWA) report: We imaged the field of GRB 140719B detected by SWIFT (trigger 605700) with the Zadko robotic telescope (D=100cm) located at the observatory - Gingin, Australia. The observations started 85s after the GRB trigger (33s after the notice). The elevation of the field increased from 46 degrees above horizon and weather conditions were good. The first image is trailed with a duration of 60.0s (see the description in Klotz et al., 2006, A&A 451, L39). We do not detect any OT with a limiting magnitude of: t0+85s to t0+145s : R > 16.5 The second image is 30.0s exposure in tracking mode: t0+163s to t0+193s : R > 18.5 We co-added a series of exposures: t0+163s to t0+446s : R > 19.0 Magnitudes were estimated with the nearby USNO-B1 stars and are not corrected for galactic dust extinction. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16615 SUBJECT: GRB 140719B, Swift-BAT refined analysis DATE: 14/07/21 06:18:24 GMT FROM: Amy Lien at GSFC S. D. Barthelmy (GSFC), W. H. Baumgartner (GSFC/UMBC), J. R. Cummings (GSFC/UMBC), E. E. Fenimore (LANL), N. Gehrels (GSFC), H. A. Krimm (GSFC/USRA), A. Y. Lien (NASA/GSFC/ORAU), C. B. Ukwatta (MSU) (i.e. the Swift-BAT team): Using the data set from T-240 to T+962 sec from the recent telemetry downlink, we report further analysis of BAT GRB 140719B (trigger #605700) (Starling, et al., GCN Circ. 16609). The BAT ground-calculated position is RA, Dec = 39.731, -2.384 deg which is RA(J2000) = 02h 38m 55.4s Dec(J2000) = -02d 23' 03.5" with an uncertainty of 1.7 arcmin, (radius, sys+stat, 90% containment). The partial coding was 42%. The mask-weighted light curve shows a single peak starting at ~T-18 s sec, peaking at ~T+2 sec, and ending at ~T+60 sec. T90 (15-350 keV) is 53.0 +- 13.5 sec (estimated error including systematics). The time-averaged spectrum from T-17 to T+49 sec is best fit by a simple power-law model. The power law index of the time-averaged spectrum is 1.8 +- 0.2. The fluence in the 15-150 keV band is 1.3 +- 0.1 x 10^-6 erg/cm2. The 1-sec peak photon flux measured from T-4.97 sec in the 15-150 keV band is 0.7 +- 0.2 ph/cm2/sec. All the quoted errors are at the 90% confidence level. The results of the batgrbproduct analysis are available at http://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/notices_s/605700/BA/ //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 16619 SUBJECT: GRB 140719B: Swift XRT observation DATE: 14/07/22 06:09:24 GMT FROM: Rhaana Starling at U of Leicester R. L. C. Starling (U. Leicester) reports on behalf of the Swift-XRT team: Swift slewed to GRB 140719B (trigger=605700, Starling et al. GCN Circ. 16609) on 2014-07-21, delayed due to a moon constraint. Observations with the XRT began at 07:59:24UT and comprised a total of 6.87 ks in photon counting mode spanning 126.6 - 140.1 ks after the BAT trigger. We do not detect any X-ray sources within the BAT refined error circle (Barthelmy et al. GCN Circ. 16615), and place a 3-sigma upper limit on the count rate at the BAT position of 0.003 count s^-1. This circular is an official product of the Swift-XRT team.
