Marisaldi, on behalf of the AGILE Team, K. Yamaoka, M. Ohno, Y. Fukazawa, T. Takahashi, M. Tashiro, Y. Terada, T. Murakami, and K. Makishima on behalf of the Suzaku WAM team report: A very bright GRB, 071125, occurred at about 50202 s UT (13:56:42). It was observed by Mars Odyssey (GRS and HEND), Konus-Wind, Konus-A (Cosmos 2421), SuperAGILE, AGILE-MCAL, and Suzaku-WAM. Ulysses and MESSENGER were off. The burst light curve shows a multipeaked structure with a duration of ~10 sec. The IPN triangulated 3-sigma error box is as follows: ----------------------------------------------- RA(2000), deg Dec(2000), deg ----------------------------------------------- Center: 251.230 (16h 44m 55s) + 4.493 (+04d 29' 35") Corners: 252.211 (16h 48m 51s) + 5.230 (+05d 13' 48") 251.602 (16h 46m 24s) + 5.044 (+05d 02' 40") 250.227 (16h 40m 55s) + 3.691 (+03d 41' 28") 250.858 (16h 43m 26s) + 3.931 (+03d 55' 50") ----------------------------------------------- The error box area is 0.532 sq. deg. The box can be improved. Preliminary analysis of the Konus-Wind data yields a burst fluence of ~7x10:-5 erg/cm2 (in the 20 keV - 3 MeV range), and Epeak of the time-integrated spectrum of ~300 keV. Detailed spectral parameters will be reported later. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 7137 SUBJECT: Konus-Wind and Konus-A observations of GRB 071125 DATE: 07/11/28 14:45:34 GMT FROM: Valentin Pal'shin at Ioffe Inst S. Golenetskii, R.Aptekar, E. Mazets, V. Pal'shin, D. Frederiks, P. Oleynik, M. Ulanov and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind and Konus-A teams report: The bright GRB 071125 (Golenetskii et al., GCN 7136) triggered Konus-Wind at T0=50197.159 s UT (13:56:37.159). This burst also triggered Konus-A (Cosmos 2421) at T0=50202.287 s UT (13:56:42.287). As observed by Konus-Wind the burst had a fluence of 7.42(-0.22, +0.31)x10^-5 erg/cm2, and a 16-ms peak flux measured from T0+2.784 s of 2.29(-0.36, +0.37)x10^-5 erg/cm2/s (both in the 20 keV - 3 MeV energy range). The burst shows strong spectral evolution. The time-integrated spectrum of the burst (from T0 to T0+15.616 s) is well fitted (in the 20 keV - 3 MeV range) by GRBM (Band) model for which: the low-energy photon index is alpha = -0.62 +/- 0.05, the high energy photon index beta = -3.10(-0.41, +0.25), the peak energy Ep = 299 +/- 13 keV (chi2 = 78.6/67 dof). All the quoted errors are at the 90% confidence level. Hara (Univ. of Miyazaki), M. Kokubun, M. Suzuki, T. Takahashi (ISAS/JAXA), S. Hong (Nihon U.), on behalf of the Suzaku WAM team, report: The bright, IPN localized GRB 071125 (Golenetskii et al., GCN 7136) was detected by the Suzaku Wide-band All-sky Monitor (WAM) which covers an energy range of 50 keV - 5 MeV at 2007-11-25 13:56:42 UT (=T0). The observed light curve shows a double-peaked structure in 1-sec time resolution. The T90 duration was about 6.0 seconds. The fluence in 100 - 1000 keV was 5.8 (+0.4, -0.3) X 10^-5 erg/cm^2. The 1-s peak flux measured from T0+1s was 32.9 (+1.0, -1.3) photons/cm^2/s in the same energy range. Preliminary result shows that the time-averaged spectrum from T0-1s to T0+12s is well fitted by a GRB Band model as follows. the low-energy photon index alpha: -1.0 (+0.4, -0.3), the high-energy photon index beta: -3.1 (+0.3, -0.6), the break energy E0: 326 (+100, -92) keV, and the peak energy Epeak: 330 (+20, -20) keV (chi^2/d.o.f = 21/22). All the quoted errors are at statistical 90% confidence level. A 3% systematic error was added to each energy channel due to the brightness of this GRB. The light curves with 1-sec time resolution for this burst will be appeared at: http://www.astro.isas.jaxa.jp/suzaku/HXD-WAM/WAM-GRB/grb/untrig/grb_table.html --
